Adoption FAQs

  • A complete application is required to start the adoption process and submission of an application does not guarantee the adoption of a dog.

  • Puppies & adult dogs - $610.00

    Senior dogs - $435.00

    Cats - $325.00

  • You must be 23yrs of age to adopt.

  • We receive many inquires each day, so I recommend that you complete your application as soon as possible. Applicants are not chosen on a first come first serve basis, rather, our goal is to find the home that best fits for the dog.

  • The speed at which your application is processed for adoption is dependent largely on how thoroughly and specifically you answer each question. Please do not leave any applicable question blank. Please include a detailed explanation for any question where you are asked to elaborate an answer.

  • No, there is no fee to apply.

  • Yes, all animals are vaccinated for rabies, parvo/distemper and Bordetella prior to adoption.

  • All adoptable animals are heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention.

  • We understand that our application is lengthy, and we appreciate your patience as we work to make sure you and the pet you choose is a perfect match!

  • No, all household members should be in agreement about the decision to adopt and be willing to play an active role in the adoption process.

  • If for any reason whatsoever the adopter(s) cannot or will not keep an animal, the animal must be returned to Cenla Alliance for Animals.

  • A verifiable history of vetting is required for all current and previous pets. This includes a verifiable history of appropriate wellness visits, immunizations, heart worm testing and a verifiable history of administering heart worm prevention to all dogs.

  • When completing the application, please be willing to elaborate on how you will handle exercise, potty breaks and training.

  • It will take time for your new dog to adjust to its new home, especially if you have other pets. (Usually 2-4 weeks, and sometimes longer.) They may require extra exercise or fewer visitors to your home at first. This must be an adjustment you're willing to make to your daily routine.
